Support for CTUL and the Campaign for Justice in Retail Cleaning continues to pour in…

Over the past several weeks many new organizations, representing around 100,000 people of faith, union members and community members from throughout Minnesota, have joined CTUL in the struggle for justice in retail cleaning.  Some examples of recent support include:

  • The Minnesota Conference of the United Church of Christ, representing 32,250 members throughout Minnesota.  On June 11, at the 2011 Annual Meeting of the Minnesota Conference United Church of Christ, the MN UCC passed a resolution supporting CTUL and the Campaign for Justice in Retail Cleaning. The Minnesota Conference includes 136 member congregations throughout Minnesota.
  • The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME Council 5), representing 43,000 workers throughout Minnesota.  AFSCME Council 5 endorsed the campaign during the Hunger Strike.
  • UAW Local 879 endorsed the campaign during the Hunger Strike.
  • The Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy (IATP) endorsed the campaign around the end of the Hunger Strike.
  • The Minneapolis Federation of Teachers endorsed the campaign shortly before the Hunger Strike.

Thank you to the more than 30 faith-based, labor, student and community organizations who have joined us in this important struggle!!
