Full Time Development Coordinator / Admin Coordinator

About CTUL: CTUL organizes low-wage workers from across the Twin Cities to develop leadership and educate one another to build power and lead the struggle for fair wages, better working conditions, basic respect, and a voice in our workplaces. CTUL is an organization of workers and for workers, committed to securing fair working conditions for present and future generations.

General Qualities for the Position

  • Have passion for social justice and following the leadership of low-wage worker led campaigns with CTUL
  • Always do the work with the goal of completing the mission of CTUL
  • Take initiative to develop your own leadership to complete your work
  • Have a flexible schedule, including some nights and weekends
  • Bilingual in Spanish is helpful but NOT necessary
  • Previous development experience is very helpful but not necessary if you are motivated and willing to learn

Fundraising (80%)

  • Grant writing.
  • Maintain current grant applications and reports, and expand CTUL’s grant base by developing relationships with new foundations around the country that fit within CTUL’s organizing mission.
  • Expanding CTUL’s funding base.
  • Work with current staff to develop, expand and maintain a fundraising plan to diversify CTUL’s funding base through organizational donations, individual donations, sustaining donations, and fundraising events.
  • Lead on planning and executing fundraising events

Administration (10%)

  • Work with CTUL accountant to maintain the books, implement payroll, and other administrative duties at CTUL.
  • Create and implement office systems to ensure effectiveness for staff including:
    • Purchase and organize supplies
    • Acquire and maintain office equipment
    • Miscellaneous office needs

Miscellaneous General Organizational Support (10%)

  • Logistical support. Coordinate logistical support for community actions, including getting permits, gathering supplies, etc.
  • General and Miscellaneous support on anything necessary to ensure CTUL’s effectiveness
  • Providing support to CTUL within your skill base depending on your unique skills i.e.:
    • Social Media support
    • Ally organizing
    • Press/Communications
    • Other potential skills you possess

Benefits:

  • Salary $30,000, to be increases after one year by 5% and 3% each following year as budget allows
  • Benefits package including 3wks, vacation and 12 paid sick days, Healthcare at 10% cost, + others
  • Mileage compensated at $0.29 per mile
  • Phone reimbursement of $25 per month
