Working people from across the state came to the Best Buy shareholder meeting on June 9th calling on the company, via their role in the Minnesota Retailers Association, to stop blocking municipal and state policy for workers’ rights. Over 100 people greeted Best Buy shareholders as they came into the meeting, with signs reading: “Renew Blue, For Who? Paid Sick Days, End Wage Theft, and Fair Scheduling.

A crew of CTUL members who work in retail cleaning went inside the shareholder meeting to talk about conditions faced by janitors who work for companies cleaning Best Buy and other stores in the Twin Cities, including: Leticia Zuniga, works for Capital cleaning Herbergers; Ramon Hernandez, works for KBS cleaning Best Buy and is an SEIU Local 26 member; Jose Cabrera, works for Carlson cleaning Target; Leroy Graham, works for Diversified cleaning Sears.
