Hundreds of workers and community members turned out for a Listening Session regarding a Labor Standards Board ordinance in Minneapolis.
The crowd spilled out of the room, and poured into the streets.
Dozens of workers testified both inside and outside of the hearing, telling stories of exploitation in Minneapolis workplaces, and the need for workers to have a voice to protect their rights through a Labor Standard Board. Check out a video of a CTUL member testifying here. And see photos of many more workers testifying below.
Shout out to the ordinance’s authors, Council Vice President Aisha Chughtai, Council Member Katie Cashman, Council Member Aurin Chowdhury…
as well as Council President Elliott Payne, Council Member Jason Chavez, Council Member Emily Koski for listening to workers today!
