workers' Resistance to Federal Occupation
Developers: Stand with construction workers in calling for ICE out of Minnesota
The federal occupation has escalated significantly in Minnesota: over the past several days there have been 2,000 additional federal agents in our state perpetuating violence in our communities, including murdering Renee Nicole Good on January 7th. At this point this violence is not only affecting our working class communities but also several major industries in our state, and it is time for the financial interests that run the industries to stand with our community call to action.
D.R. Horton is one of the largest homebuilders in Minnesota, the largest nationwide, and was #120 in the Fortune 500 list in 2025. Already this year ICE has raided and harassed workers three times at a D.R. Horton worksite in Shakopee, Minnesota. Raids aren’t happening just on single-family homes — ICE is increasingly raiding construction sites of apartment complexes. United Properties, one of the largest multifamily developers in the Twin Cities and a company owned by the billionaire Pohlad family, has so far remained silent about the harm this escalation is causing in the industry and our communities.
Despite our repeated communications to share resources to protect workers and end harassment on their job sites, D.R. Horton has not responded.
The level of violence perpetuated in our communities by these federal agents is unacceptable and preventable. It is time for D.R. Horton and United Properties, as well as other developers like Robert Thomas Homes, Lennar, Yellow Tree, and Solhem to stand with the community and publicly condemn the ICE escalations and tell ICE to leave the Twin Cities.
86 ICE! Take The Pledge
In the restaurant industry, when something is “86’d”, it means it’s out of stock, unavailable, or has been gotten rid of; it can also mean to refuse service to someone or to eliminate something entirely.
Our community is under attack. Join CTUL and ROC MN members in organizing to ensure that the restaurant industry represents sanctuary, safety, and unwavering community. By joining this pledge you are not just making a statement, you are taking concrete steps to protect your employees and guests who are the heart of your business.
TAKE THE PLEDGE!
I pledge to:
Deny entry to ICE and other federal agents to the private areas of our business without a signed, valid judicial warrant and eject ICE agents from public areas of the business unless they are executing a warrant signed by a judge.
Refuse service to known ICE or federal agents in our establishment
Develop and implement a proactive preparedness plan and ensure that all workers and managers are trained and empowered to protect the safety of our business, our staff, and our customers in the event of a federal law enforcement action.
AFTER YOU TAKE THE PLEDGE: Call on industry leading organizations Hospitality Minnesota, the Downtown Council, and Minneapolis Regional Chamber of Commerce to endorse this pledge. Their leadership is critical to projecting a unified message: Minnesota’s hospitality industry stands for the protection of our workers, our communities, and the inclusive economy we have built together.
THEN, join us on Friday, 1/23, when our city will witness a profound act of solidarity: workers are not working; students are not attending school; and community members are foregoing shopping in an economic demonstration of our collective stance against the destabilizing presence of ICE in our community. Now we call on restaurants and hospitality industry leaders to officially stand with us.
We keep us safe. Together we can 86 ICE from the restaurant industry in Minnesota
