Week of Action: March 2 – 9, 2024
Thousands of workers and community members are standing together to win real advances in the issues that matter to all of us: dignified work, good schools, stable housing, and a livable planet. Over the course of the week, CTUL members will stand in solidarity with members of SEIU 26, St. Paul Federation of Educators, SEIU Healthcare Minnesota & Iowa, SEIU 284, Minneapolis Federation of Teachers, Inquinxs Unidxs for Justice, ISAIAH, Unidos, Laborers 363, ATU, and more in a united call to action, imagining:
What Could We Win Together?
Members of CTUL will lead two actions during the week:
- On Monday, March 2, 2024, dozens of CTUL members will join SEIU and other allies to give their testimonies at a city listening session, calling on Minneapolis City Council to pass an ordinance for Labor Standards Boards.

- On Thursday, March 7, 2:30-4:00pm, hundreds of allies will stand with CTUL members who work in construction in a rally calling on Solhem, Yellow Tree, and United Properties to guarantee basic dignity and respect for construction workers who build their projects by joining the Building Dignity and Respect (BDR) Program. Join us for the rally outside of Solhem Company Offices at 724 N 1st St #500, Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Why a Week of Action together with so many organizations?
We know the issues that we are facing sometimes feel astronomical. In Minnesota we know too well the racism, prejudice and indignities that BIPOC people face in their jobs, communities, by police and other institutions. In addition to the harm that this causes individuals or groups, the reality is that these divisions are used against us. The structures that exist in our society are used by the corporate elite to continue exploiting our labor. Turning us against our neighbors and our coworkers, and leading us to believe that people different than you deserve less. That’s why we’re coming together. To stand in solidarity, to make our voices louder, but mostly we are coming together to win. Winning for ourselves, our families, each other, our communities, and those in our society who need it most.
