- Clearly delineate private spaces on an active construction job site. This can be done using fences and signs indicating that this is a private space. Legally ICE cannot come onto private property without a signed valid judicial warrant. You can use the sign available for download here or make your own using similar language to display in a prominent location outside of the job site.
2. Train staff on active job sites to be prepared if ICE or other federal agents were to show. ICE must have a signed valid judicial warrant with the correct dates to be able to come onto private property. A valid judicial warrant must be signed by a judge, must have current valid dates, and must have the correct address for the construction site.
See this example of what to look for on a judicial warrant and how to distinguish it from other documents that ICE may produce. And see this Employer Guide on What to do if immigration comes to your workplace for more information.
